Helpful Guys proudly provides property maintenance services, handyman services, landscaping services, parking lot sweeping, snow removal services, parking lot line painting, hauling services, construction services, and more in Edmonton, Alberta, and surrounding areas.
This Service Agreement outlines the terms and conditions for customers booking residential and commercial property services in Edmonton and the surrounding areas through Helpful Guys.
By booking, ordering, or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions.
Services
Helpful Guys provides a large variety of residential and commercial property services including but not limited to:

• Lawn Care Services
• Property Maintenance Services
• Parking Lot Sweeping Services
• Parking Lot Line Painting Services
• Pressure Washing Services
• Junk Removal Services
• Pest Control Services (Organic Insect Treatment)
• Gravel Truck and Hauling Services
• Appliance Repair Services
• Property Inspection Services
• Construction Services
• And more.
Service details, scope of work, and pricing will be outlined in your order, booking confirmation, quote, or invoice.
LCM Services
Helpful Guys may utilize LCM Services for operational management, dispatch coordination, scheduling, administration, and supervision of services.
LCM Services acts solely in a management and administrative capacity and does not perform the physical services unless otherwise specified.
Customers acknowledge that LCM Services shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, claims, or disputes arising from services performed by Helpful Guys or its contractors.
Scheduling
Helpful Guys will make every reasonable effort to complete services in a timely manner. Service timing may vary depending on weather conditions, workload, road conditions, equipment availability, and other circumstances beyond our control.
Customers must provide reasonable and safe access to the property so our crews can complete the requested services.
If access to the property is blocked, unsafe, or otherwise unavailable, Helpful Guys reserves the right to delay, reschedule, or skip the service until access can be safely obtained.
Payment Terms
Payment may be required at the time of booking, upon completion of service, or through invoicing depending on the service booked.
Invoices are typically due within 15 to 30 days unless otherwise stated.
A 10% late fee may apply to any overdue invoices. Helpful Guys reserves the right to suspend services without further notice until any outstanding invoices or balances owing have been paid in full.
Customers agree that any unpaid balances may be sent to collections and may be subject to additional recovery costs, legal fees, and interest where permitted by law.
Estimate Fee
Some services require an on-site estimate where our team attends the property to take photos, perform measurements, and assess the scope of work in order to provide an accurate estimate.
If you proceed with booking the service, the estimate fee will be credited and deducted from your final invoice, meaning the estimate fee will not be charged as an additional cost for customers who proceed with the service.
Minimum Service Charges
Certain services require a minimum service time or charge.
For example, truck services, equipment services, or labor services may require a minimum charge of three (3) hours.
If the service takes longer than the minimum time, the additional time will be billed and may be invoiced after completion.
Snow Removal Services
Service Period
Snow removal services are typically provided during the seasonal period of:
November 01 to March 31 or April 30
depending on seasonal conditions.
Snowfall Trigger
Snow removal services are triggered on residential properties and sidewalk services when 1 cm accumulation or greater is present, and 4 to 5 cm on parking lots, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
24 Bylaw Hour Snow Removal Service
Helpful Guys schedules snow removal services with the goal of completing all residential properties within 24 bylaw hours from the time the most recent snowfall stops.
Commercial properties are typically serviced overnight on the first night for regular service customers and on the second night for as-needed service customers, depending on routing and service agreements.
However, service times may vary depending on snowfall amounts, weather conditions, equipment availability, and road conditions.
The property owner remains responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable municipal bylaws.
Definition of Snow Removal
For certainty, snow removal means clearing freshly fallen snow from a snowfall event only and does not include removal of compacted snow, frozen snow, or ice, although our crews will do their best to remove as much compacted snow as they can with a reasonable effort. We also offer additional ice management services. Please contact our office to book this in if needed.
Snow Re-Accumulation and Municipal Plowing
Customers acknowledge that municipal snow clearing operations, wind, drifting snow, and additional snowfall may cause snow to re-accumulate after Helpful Guys has completed services.
Helpful Guys is not responsible for snow pushed back by municipal plows or third-party snow clearing operations.
Additional services required due to these conditions may be performed at the applicable service rate.
Snow Storage and Snow Piling
Snow removed from driveways, sidewalks, and parking areas will be piled in reasonable locations on the property as determined by Helpful Guys crews.
Helpful Guys is not responsible for hauling snow away unless snow hauling services are specifically requested and agreed to in writing.
If snow storage areas become full, snow relocation or hauling services may be required and billed accordingly with your approval.
Extreme Weather and Snowfall Events
During periods of heavy snowfall, blizzards, drifting snow, or continuous snowfall events, service completion times may be extended.
Helpful Guys will make reasonable efforts to service properties as soon as conditions safely allow.
Vehicle and Property Obstruction
Customers must ensure service areas are clear of vehicles or obstructions.
Helpful Guys is not responsible for areas that cannot be serviced due to blocked access.
Slip and Fall Liability
Snow removal services do not guarantee completely ice-free or slip-free surfaces.
Property owners remain responsible for monitoring conditions and applying ice melt or sand when required.
Hidden Objects and Property Damage
Customers must identify or mark hidden objects such as curbs, sprinkler heads, edging, lights, or landscaping features.
Helpful Guys is not responsible for damage to objects that are hidden under snow or not visible during service.
Cancellation Policy
Customers may cancel services within ten (10) days of confirming services.
If cancelled within this period, a 50% cancellation fee plus a 10% administration fee and applicable GST will apply.
After these 10 days, services become non-cancellable, and no refunds will be permitted.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Credit Card Payments, Refunds, and Chargeback Compliance
By electing to pay for services by credit card, the Customer expressly acknowledges and agrees that all payments are subject to the terms and conditions set out in this Agreement, including the cancellation and refund provisions contained herein.
For greater certainty, no refunds shall be issued for any credit card payments outside of the initial ten (10) day cancellation period, as expressly provided for in this Agreement. After the expiration of the ten (10) day period, all payments are final and non-refundable, regardless of usage or non-usage of services.
The Customer further acknowledges and agrees that the credit card holder is bound by, and shall comply with, all applicable national and international credit card rules, regulations, and network requirements, including but not limited to those established by major card issuers and payment networks.
In Canada, credit card practices are governed by applicable federal legislation, industry codes of conduct, and regulatory oversight administered by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC). By completing payment, the Customer confirms that they understand and agree to be bound by such rules, including all applicable dispute and chargeback processes.
The Customer expressly agrees that initiating a chargeback or payment dispute in contravention of the terms of this Agreement, including where services have been rendered or where the cancellation period has expired, shall constitute a breach of this Agreement. In such circumstances, the Company reserves the right to pursue recovery of all amounts owing, together with any applicable administrative fees, chargeback fees, collection costs, legal fees on a solicitor-client basis, and any other remedies available at law. Initiating a credit card chargeback or payment dispute may be considered a breach of this Service Agreement.
Helpful Guys reserves the right to recover all outstanding balances, cancellation fees, a $500 administration fee, chargeback costs, and legal or collection expenses.
Right to Payment for Services Rendered
Once services are scheduled and dispatched, Helpful Guys is entitled to full payment.
Failure to pay may result in collection action or legal proceedings, including recovery of legal fees on a solicitor-client cost basis and or collection fees.
Reviews and Customer Feedback
Helpful Guys values customer feedback and encourages direct communication with our office regarding service concerns.
Public reviews must be truthful and based on actual service experiences.
False, misleading, or defamatory statements may result in legal action, including recovery of damages and legal costs.
Force Majeure
Helpful Guys shall not be liable for delays caused by events beyond our control, including extreme weather, equipment failure, accidents, road closures, labor shortages, or government actions.
Limitation of Liability
Helpful Guys shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from services provided.
Entire Agreement
This Service Agreement represents the entire agreement between the customer and Helpful Guys.
No verbal agreements or prior statements shall modify these terms unless confirmed in writing by Helpful Guys.
Severability
If any provision of this Service Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Governing Law
This Service Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, and any disputes shall be resolved within the courts of Alberta.
Acceptance of Terms
By booking, ordering, or allowing Helpful Guys to perform services, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined in this Service Agreement.
