HELPFUL GUYS SERVICE AGREEMENT
Helpful Guys proudly provides residential and commercial property services throughout Edmonton, Alberta, and surrounding areas.
Our services include property maintenance, handyman services, landscaping, lawn care, parking lot sweeping, snow removal, parking lot line painting, hauling, construction services, property inspections, pest control, and more.
This Service Agreement outlines the terms and conditions that apply when customers book, order, pay for, or use Helpful Guys services.
GENERAL SERVICE TERMS
1. SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Helpful Guys provides a wide range of residential and commercial property services, including but not limited to:
- Snow Removal Services
- Handyman Services
- Renovation Services
- Landscaping Services
- Lawn Care Services
- Property Maintenance Services
- Parking Lot Sweeping Services
- Parking Lot Line Painting Services
- Pressure Washing Services
- Junk Removal Services
- Pest Control Services — Organic Insect Treatment
- Gravel Truck and Hauling Services
- Appliance Repair Services
- Property Inspection Services
- Construction Services
- And More
The specific service details, scope of work, and pricing will be outlined in your order, booking confirmation, quote, estimate, invoice, or other written service documentation.
2. LCM SERVICES
Helpful Guys may utilize LCM Services for:
- Operational management
- Dispatch coordination
- Scheduling
- Administration
- Service supervision
- Quality-control oversight
- Customer communication
LCM Services acts primarily in a management and administrative capacity and does not perform physical services unless otherwise specified.
Customers acknowledge that LCM Services shall not be held liable for damages, losses, claims, or disputes arising from services performed by Helpful Guys or its contractors, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
3. SCHEDULING & PROPERTY ACCESS
Helpful Guys will make every reasonable effort to complete services in a timely manner.
Service timing may vary because of:
- Weather conditions
- Workload
- Road conditions
- Equipment availability
- Labour availability
- Safety concerns
- Property access
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Customers are responsible for providing reasonable, clear, and safe access to the property and service areas.
If access is blocked, unsafe, or otherwise unavailable, Helpful Guys may delay, reschedule, modify, or skip the affected portion of the service until safe access can be provided.

5. QUALITY SERVICE PROMISE
Helpful Guys promises to make every reasonable effort to provide services professionally, carefully, and in accordance with the service standards established for the work being performed.
Our crews, technicians, contractors, and service providers are expected to:
- Take pride in their work
- Treat customers and properties professionally
- Follow applicable service instructions
- Follow established quality standards
- Follow applicable safety requirements
- Complete assigned work carefully and responsibly
- Report significant service concerns when identified
Our objective is to provide customers with consistent, professional, and quality service.
6. RELIABLE SERVICE PROMISE
Helpful Guys promises to make every reasonable effort to provide dependable and reliable service.
We use organized:
- Scheduling
- Dispatching
- Service coordination
- Route planning where applicable
- Customer communication
- Crew and contractor coordination
- Quality-control oversight
to help ensure services are properly managed from the time they are booked until the work is completed.
7. OUR UNIQUE QUALITY-CONTROL SYSTEM
Helpful Guys uses a unique quality-control and service-management system designed to help monitor service performance and maintain consistent service standards.
Depending on the type of service being performed, our quality-control process may include:
- Crew Leader or supervisor oversight
- Office management and monitoring
- Service instructions provided to crews or contractors
- Property-specific work instructions
- Before-and-after photographs where applicable
- Customer communication
- Work-completion verification
- Review of reported service concerns
- Review of service quality
- Follow-up where reasonably required
- Corrective action where reasonably appropriate
Our quality-control system is intended to provide customers with additional accountability and service oversight.
8. CREW LEADER & SUPERVISOR MANAGEMENT
Where crews are used, each crew may be assigned a Crew Leader, supervisor, or designated person responsible for overseeing the work.
Crew Leaders and supervisors help ensure service providers follow Helpful Guys' established:
- Service requirements
- Quality standards
- Safety requirements
- Property-specific instructions
- Customer instructions
- Work procedures
9. OFFICE MANAGEMENT & OVERSIGHT
Our crews, technicians, contractors, and service providers are supported and managed by our office.
Our office may assist with:
- Scheduling
- Dispatching
- Customer communication
- Service coordination
- Route coordination
- Crew and contractor management
- Quality-control oversight
- Service documentation
- Addressing customer concerns
- Coordinating follow-up service where appropriate
This provides multiple levels of service accountability, including the person performing the work, the Crew Leader or supervisor where applicable, and our office.
10. SERVICE ACCOUNTABILITY
Helpful Guys expects all crews, contractors, technicians, supervisors, and service providers working within our service system to comply with our established service requirements and quality standards.
Where a legitimate service concern is reported, Helpful Guys will make reasonable efforts to:
- Review the concern
- Determine what occurred
- Communicate with the applicable crew, contractor, or service provider
- Determine whether corrective action is reasonably required
- Address the matter in an appropriate and professional manner
Whether we are providing snow removal, property maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, handyman services, renovations, hauling, sweeping, line painting, inspections, pest-control services, construction services, or another Helpful Guys service, our goal remains the same:
PAYMENT & PRICING TERMS
11. PAYMENT TERMS
Payment may be required:
- At the time of booking
- Upon completion of the service
- Through invoicing
- According to the payment terms stated on your order or agreement
Invoices are typically due within 15 to 30 days, unless otherwise stated.
A 10% late fee may apply to overdue invoices, where permitted by law.
Helpful Guys reserves the right to suspend services without further notice until all outstanding balances have been paid in full.
Unpaid balances may be sent to collections and may be subject to additional recovery costs, legal fees, interest, and other amounts where permitted by law.
12. ESTIMATE FEES
Certain services may require an on-site estimate.
This may include attending the property to:
- Take photographs
- Perform measurements
- Review site conditions
- Determine equipment or labour requirements
- Assess the overall scope of work
If you proceed with the service, the estimate fee will be credited toward and deducted from your final invoice, where stated as part of the estimate arrangement.
This means the estimate fee is not an additional cost for customers who proceed with the applicable service, where the credit arrangement applies.
13. MINIMUM SERVICE CHARGES
Certain services may require a minimum service time or minimum charge.
For example, truck services, equipment services, or labour services may require a minimum charge of three (3) or four (4) hours, depending on the service.
If the work exceeds the minimum service period, additional time will be billed at the applicable rate and may be invoiced following completion.
SNOW REMOVAL SERVICE TERMS
14. SNOW REMOVAL SEASON
Snow removal services are typically provided during the seasonal period of:
depending on seasonal conditions and the service package selected.
The exact service period applicable to the customer will be identified in the customer's order, booking confirmation, quote, estimate, invoice, or service package.
15. SNOWFALL TRIGGERS
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, snow removal services are generally triggered at:
Residential Properties & Sidewalks
1 cm of snow accumulation or greater
Commercial Parking Lots
Approximately 4–5 cm of snow accumulation
Different snowfall triggers may apply where specifically stated in the customer's service package, quote, order, or agreement.
16. 24-BYLAW-HOUR SNOW REMOVAL SERVICE
Helpful Guys schedules residential snow removal services with the goal of completing properties within 24 bylaw hours from the time the most recent snowfall stops.
Commercial Properties
- First night: Regular service customers
- Second night: As-needed service customers
Actual service timing may vary based on:
- Snowfall amounts
- Continuous snowfall
- Weather conditions
- Road conditions
- Equipment availability
- Routing requirements
- Safety considerations
- Property access
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
The property owner remains responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable municipal snow removal bylaws.
SNOW REMOVAL SERVICE PROMISES & QUALITY CONTROL
17. QUALITY SNOW REMOVAL PROMISE
In addition to our general Helpful Guys Service Promises and Quality Control standards, our snow removal services include additional snow-service management and oversight.
Our snow removal crews are expected to perform services carefully and professionally and in accordance with the snow removal service standards established by Helpful Guys.
18. RELIABLE SNOW REMOVAL PROMISE
Helpful Guys maintains organized:
- Snowfall monitoring
- Scheduling
- Routing
- Dispatching
- Crew coordination
- Service oversight
- Customer communication
to help provide customers with dependable and reliable snow removal service throughout the winter season.
19. SNOW REMOVAL QUALITY-CONTROL SYSTEM
Our snow removal program uses our unique quality-control and service-management system to help monitor service performance and maintain consistent standards from property to property.
Depending on the service package and circumstances, this may include:
- Crew Leader oversight
- Office monitoring
- Route management
- Service instructions
- Property-specific instructions
- Before-and-after photographs where applicable
- Service-completion monitoring
- Customer communication
- Review of reported service concerns
20. SNOW REMOVAL CREW LEADER MANAGEMENT
Each snow removal crew is managed and overseen by a Crew Leader.
The Crew Leader is responsible for helping ensure crew members follow Helpful Guys' established:
- Snow removal service requirements
- Quality standards
- Property-specific instructions
- Snow removal procedures
- Safety requirements
The Crew Leader provides an additional level of on-site service accountability and quality control.
21. SNOW REMOVAL OFFICE MANAGEMENT & OVERSIGHT
Our snow removal crews and Crew Leaders are further supported and managed by our office.
Our office assists with:
- Snowfall monitoring
- Scheduling
- Dispatching
- Route coordination
- Customer communication
- Service coordination
- Crew management
- Quality-control oversight
- Addressing customer service concerns
This creates multiple levels of service accountability, from the individual crew members to the Crew Leader and ultimately to our office.

Helpful Guys combines our crews, Crew Leaders, office management, and unique quality-control system to provide dependable snow removal service and help our customers:
SAVE TIME. SAVE MONEY. REDUCE STRESS.
22. WHAT “SNOW REMOVAL” MEANS
For the purpose of this agreement, snow removal means clearing freshly fallen snow from a snowfall event.
Standard snow removal does not include the complete removal of:
- Compacted snow
- Frozen snow
- Packed snow
- Ice
Our crews will make a reasonable effort to remove as much compacted snow as reasonably possible.
Helpful Guys also provides additional ice-management services. Please contact our office if these services are required.
23. SNOW RE-ACCUMULATION & MUNICIPAL PLOWING
Customers acknowledge that snow may return to previously cleared areas because of:
- Municipal snow-clearing operations
- City or municipal snowplows
- Wind
- Drifting snow
- Additional snowfall
- Third-party snow-clearing operations
Helpful Guys is not responsible for snow pushed back onto a property by municipal plows or third-party snow-clearing operations.
Additional clearing requested because of these conditions may be performed at the applicable service rate.
24. SNOW STORAGE & SNOW PILING
Snow removed from driveways, sidewalks, and parking areas will be piled in reasonable locations on the property as determined by our crews.
Standard snow removal does not include hauling snow away from the property unless snow hauling has been specifically requested and agreed to in writing.
If available snow-storage areas become full, additional:
- Snow relocation
- Snow hauling
- Equipment
- Labour
may be required and billed accordingly with customer approval.
25. EXTREME WEATHER & MAJOR SNOWFALL EVENTS
During periods of:
- Heavy snowfall
- Blizzards
- Continuous snowfall
- High winds
- Drifting snow
- Extreme weather conditions
normal service completion times may be extended.
Helpful Guys will make reasonable efforts to service properties as soon as conditions safely allow.
26. VEHICLES & PROPERTY OBSTRUCTIONS
Customers must ensure that service areas are reasonably clear of:
- Vehicles
- Trailers
- Equipment
- Garbage bins
- Materials
- Other obstructions
Helpful Guys is not responsible for areas that cannot be serviced because access is blocked or unsafe.
27. SLIP & FALL CONDITIONS
Snow removal services do not guarantee completely ice-free or slip-free surfaces.
Property owners remain responsible for monitoring property conditions and determining whether additional:
- Ice melt
- Sand
- Traction materials
- Ice-management services
are required.
28. HIDDEN OBJECTS & PROPERTY DAMAGE
Customers are responsible for identifying or marking objects that may become hidden under snow, including:
- Curbs
- Sprinkler heads
- Landscape edging
- Decorative lights
- Low landscaping features
- Other hidden objects
Helpful Guys is not responsible for damage to objects that are hidden under snow or not reasonably visible during service, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
CANCELLATION, REFUNDS & PAYMENTS
29. CANCELLATION POLICY
Customers may cancel services within ten (10) days of confirming the service, provided that Helpful Guys has not already commenced the service.
If the service has already commenced, no refund will be provided, subject to applicable law.
If a cancellation occurs within the permitted 10-day cancellation period:
- A 50% cancellation fee will apply
- A 10% administration fee will apply
- Applicable GST will be added
After the 10-Day Cancellation Period
After the initial ten (10) days, services become non-cancellable and payments are non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
30. CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS, REFUNDS & CHARGEBACKS
By paying for services using a credit card, the customer acknowledges and agrees that the payment is subject to the terms and conditions contained within this Service Agreement.
No refunds will be issued for credit card payments outside the initial ten (10) day cancellation period as noted above, subject to applicable law.
After the cancellation period has expired, payments are considered final and non-refundable, subject to applicable law.
Customers acknowledge that credit card payments are also subject to applicable:
- Card issuer rules and regulations
- Payment network requirements
- Canadian legislation
- Industry codes of conduct
- Regulatory requirements
- Dispute and chargeback procedures
In Canada, credit card practices may be subject to federal legislation, industry codes, and regulatory oversight including the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC).
31. IMPROPER CHARGEBACKS & PAYMENT DISPUTES
Initiating a credit card chargeback or payment dispute contrary to the terms of this Service Agreement, including where services have already been rendered or where the cancellation period has expired, may constitute a breach of this agreement.
Where permitted by law, Helpful Guys reserves the right to pursue recovery of:
- Outstanding balances
- Cancellation fees
- A $500 chargeback fee
- Chargeback-related costs
- Collection costs
- Legal expenses on a solicitor-client cost basis, plus disbursements
- Administrative expenses
- Time required to respond to or deal with a chargeback at $50 per hour
- Any other recoverable costs or remedies available at law
32. RIGHT TO PAYMENT FOR SCHEDULED & DISPATCHED SERVICES
Once services have been scheduled and dispatched, Helpful Guys is entitled to full payment, subject to applicable law and the terms of this agreement.
Failure to pay amounts owing may result in:
- Collection action
- Legal proceedings
- Recovery of collection expenses
- Recovery of legal fees on a solicitor-client cost basis where permitted
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK & LEGAL TERMS
33. REVIEWS & CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
Helpful Guys values customer feedback and encourages customers to contact our office directly if they have a concern regarding their service.
Public reviews and complaints must be:
- Truthful
- Accurate
- Based on actual service experiences
False, misleading, or defamatory statements may result in legal action where appropriate, including recovery of damages, legal costs, interest, and other amounts a court determines Helpful Guys is entitled to recover.
34. FORCE MAJEURE
Helpful Guys shall not be responsible for delays or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Extreme weather
- Equipment failure
- Accidents
- Road closures and conditions
- Labour shortages
- Government actions
- Other unforeseen events
35. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law, Helpful Guys shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from services provided.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
36. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This Service Agreement represents the entire agreement between the customer and Helpful Guys concerning the services provided.
No verbal agreement, representation, or previous statement will modify these terms unless the change is confirmed in writing by Helpful Guys.
37. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Service Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
38. GOVERNING LAW
This Service Agreement is governed by:
The laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.
Any disputes shall be resolved within the courts of Alberta, subject to applicable law.
